A Legacy Sewn in Sacrifice

The soul behind Perth Tailoring Co.

Before Perth Tailoring Co. became a name stitched into history...

Before the shield became a recognised emblem of craftsmanship across Perth...

There was just a man, a woman, and a dream they dared to carry across oceans.

Fleeing the Vietnam War, my parents — terrified and desperate — boarded a tiny boat with no certainty of survival.

They didn’t speak the language.

They didn’t know if they’d ever see land again.

But they had the will to live… and protect their family.

They endured storms, starvation, and nights filled with fear…

Yet they made it to Australian shores — not as refugees, but as survivors.

But the fight wasn’t over.

They worked in sweatshops.

Sewed through days and nights.

Got robbed of their pay.

Got taken advantage of by people who should have known better.

But they never gave up.

When no one gave them a seat at the table, they built their own in the backyard.

With one sewing machine, two pairs of hands, and a fire that never went out… they started again.

Quietly.

Proudly.

Relentlessly.

And from that, Perth Tailoring Co. was born.

They stitched not just clothes — they stitched their honour, sacrifice, and survival into every thread.

Eventually, our family made garments for major fashion houses in Australia.

But they never chased fame.

They chased purpose, legacy, and doing things right.

Today, Perth Tailoring Co. stands inside Trinity Arcade —

A symbol of excellence.

A logo recognised across the country.

But more than that, it’s a tribute to my parents’ story.

A symbol of everything they went through…

From war, to ocean, to factory floor — and finally to mastery.

We are now a multi-award-winning studio.

Trusted by luxury labels, bespoke clients, and brides around the world.

But at our core, we’re still the children of two people who never gave up.

Our success is not mine alone.

It is my father’s.

It is my mother’s.

It is for anyone who started with nothing — and built something with love and willpower.

In loving memory of my father...

Ba, you didn’t just teach me how to sew.

You taught me how to stand.

You gave up your peace so we could live in safety.

You gave everything.

And the world now sees your legacy stitched into every suit, every gown, every thread.

The logo we carry proudly today — the shield of Perth Tailoring Co. —

That is yours.

Thank you, Ba.

None of this exists without you.
